Construction is underway! LCS is seeking an experienced Senior Living Move-In Coordinator to oversee the daily operations at Broadview-Senior Living at Purchase College located on the Purchase College, SUNY campus in Purchase, New York. Broadview will be the first University Based Retirement Community in Westchester County. The Senior Living Move-In Coordinator works in accordance with established policies and procedures of Life Care Services LLC and/or specific instruction from the LCS Development Project Development Manager (PDM). This position performs all of the necessary functions involved with the Selections Process, communication with the General Contractor, private contractors employed with approval by residents for specific residence modifications and installations and moving-in all future residents. The selections coordinator must anticipate needs and accomplish tasks independently, with minimal supervision or direction. This position reports to the LCS Development Project Development Manager.

The Role:

  • Resident Support
    • Assists depositors and residents in their requests for construction, plumbing and electrical changes. This includes identifying qualified contractors to provide services outside of the regular selections process.
    • Act as liaison between Development staff and internal/external customers. Includes making and receiving telephone calls, discerning and processing the needs of the caller with discretion and confidentiality.
    • Assists and guides future residents with interior selections (i.e. carpet, flooring, countertops, appliances, and cabinetry).
    • Develop a finish standards binder for residents. Coordinates and schedules access to residences for the depositors’ vendors for field measurements.
    • Guides the depositors from Sales to Selections & Move-In while keeping LCS Development and relevant Community Operations departments informed of the process and progress.
    • Available to make home visits to assist in placement of furniture in new residence.
    • Make presentations at Resident Update Meetings (RUM) to inform Buyers where we are in the Selections Process.
    • Helps future residents make as smooth a transition to their new residences as is possible.
    • Attend Sales events and socials when time permits.
    • Communicates in writing with future residents regarding projected move-in dates.
    • Schedules occupancy of residences.
    • Provide training/consultation to LCS clients in the area of the selections/move-in process.
  • Contractor Management
    • Coordinate with the Community’s Executive Director the Move-In Procedure: the working relationship between the General Contractor, Maintenance, Housekeeping and Marketing & Sales.
    • Coordinates schedules of movers for move-in dates and times
    • Communicates and notifies in writing the completed selections and move-in schedule to all appropriate personnel (LCS, contractors, marketing, sales and community operations staff) in a consistent and timely manner.
    • Attend monthly Owner, Architect, and Contractor meetings.
  • Project Management and Administration
    • Reviews project requirements, identifies interdependence with internal departments and external clients.
    • Prepares and maintains project plans, tracks project progress, and prepare reports for clients
    • Assist the PDM with onsite construction observation/reporting.
    • Prepare reports using Power Point, Excel and Word. Input data into spreadsheets in order to maintain and run reports for clients.
    • Maintain confidential documents and files for the Development group--includes contract
    • Understands a web based program that utilizes the resident selection program provided by LCS and/or the general contractor and processes all changes timely and accurately.
    • Perform pre-determined construction inspections to generate and communicate punch lists to the General Contractor.
    • Assist with the Punch-list process by tracking/documenting open issues.
    • Other duties as assigned.



  • Construction, contractor coordination, interior design, selections process or retail sales with the ability to assist and guide residents in the selection of interior colors, options, and placement of furniture are essential.


Knowledge & Skills:

  • Organizational skills to assist the future resident in making and finalizing selections among options offered and preparation for moving to their new home
  • Experience in sales or hospitality environment, where good communication, both in writing and on the telephone, and customer relations skills are essential
  • Experience with basic computer skills. MS Publisher, Excel, C3Prims, Bluefinger programs
  • Relate well with depositors under stress of selecting finishes and colors and moving by being responsive and empathetic
  • Alert marketing and sales if depositor shows signs of canceling while taking steps to avoid a cancellation
  • Ameliorate conflict and disappointment when depositor’s requested changes cannot be accommodated
  • Develop a streamlined and organized processes for tracking progress and reporting
  • Take initiative and creative steps to meet deadlines;
  • Work well under pressure
  • Prioritize tasks on a daily basis
  • Be conscious of the bottom-line and alert the PDM and Community of opportunities to improve service while reducing cost
