General Purpose:
The Front End Supervisor’s main purpose is to supervise and train cashiers and to run the floor in the manager’s absence in addition to all the responsibilities of a regular cashier.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Description:
- Ensure that each customer receive outstanding customer service by providing a customer-friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging customers and thanking them for shopping at Adams
- Learn all front end procedures
- Ensure that the customer is the priority and that there are no lines
- Make sure all cashiers remain at their registers to be ready for customers
- Train new cashiers on registers and set an example of how to lead
- Create break list to ensure adequate coverage for the floor
- Handle returns and customer complaints if necessary
- Fill paper and plastic bags at each register
- Make sure all produce and grocery returns are put away
- Keep area clean, empty garbage, and wipe down belts
- Sweep floor and replenish drawers with utensils and tapes
- Check prices at beginning of shift
- Carefully bag goods for customers
- Be familiar with store (location of all departments)
- Be willing to perform extra duties such as stocking shelves, cleaning, etc, as well as to perform as a cashier and ring out customer as required
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift approximately 25 lbs.
- Stand in place for long periods of time
Mental/Reasoning Requirements:
- Must be able to process media control accurately
- Be polite, courteous & patient with each customer
- Ability to memorize codes of products
- Basic math skills
- Demonstrate leadership and respect to all cashiers
- Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and managers
