We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to lead the accounting team. This role supervises the day-to-day activities in the accounting department, ensures that sound and reliable accounting practices are adhered to and is responsible for preparing and distributing timely and accurate financial information to the management team. Controllers must have solid communication, technology, analytical and management skills. Candidates should possess knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The ideal candidate isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves, get out from behind the desk and be a leader in all the areas of accounting, cash management, payroll, AP, reporting, administration, and planning. The Controller position reports to the CFO and leads/carries out responsibilities across accounting working collaboratively with the leaders in finance, operations, legal, revenue cycle, development and throughout the organization while ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met.
Essential Responsibilities:

Prepares and distributes in a timely manner the monthly financial information to management.

Manages monthly closing, ensures balancing of all bank accounts and the accuracy and flow of data into the general ledger

Oversees the monthly preparation of profit/loss and balance sheet reports

Oversees AP, cash management and payroll functions

Manages the preparation of all audit/review schedules with outside auditors.

Prepares special reports and performs analysis as requested by the management team

Constantly seeking efficiencies and improvements to serve operations and other areas of the company working with the financial team in planning for future needs (e.g., revised systems/processes, relations between finance, revenue cycle and various other corporate functions)

Serves as a trusted advisor to all other departments

Knowledge of economic and GAAP accounting principles and practices, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data

Education and/or Experience:

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. A master’s degree in a related field a plus

CPA a plus
-
7-10 years similar experience, healthcare preferred
