Job Description:
IR M seeks an individual to join our Investment Team as a Junior Credit Research Associate. This individual will report to a Senior Credit Research Analyst on the Credit Team. This is a unique opportunity for an individual to work with a talented group of Credit Analysts and to learn about different sub-sectors within Financials, Industrials, Utilities, and Municipals.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Credit Analysts in conducting bottom-up fundamental analysis on credits within their respective sector coverage
- Create and update financial models and sector comparable credit and ESG sheets
- Perform analysis of quantitative and qualitative factors impacting current and potential high grade fixed income investments
- Attend and contribute to Credit Team meetings
- Successfully complete ad hoc projects in a timely manner
Required Skills and Experience:
- 1-2 years of investment research or credit research
- Demonstrated interest in and passion for analyzing investment opportunities
- Ability to interpret financial reports and perform financial analysis
- Strong quantitative skills including proficiency in Excel
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills including proficiency in PowerPoint
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a hybrid workspace
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with different individuals on the team
- Intellectual curiosity, strong organizational skills, and an ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Embrace feedback and focused on continuous improvement
Education Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Working toward or willing to pursue the CFA designation
- Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) experience or coursework preferred
