Overview
The purpose of this position is to provide support to the commercial lending team by managing and servicing an assigned portfolio of new and existing loan customers. This position will evaluate, authorize, or recommend approval of commercial loans while managing loan quality through origination, documentation, monitoring, and retaining accountability for all aspects of credit risk management.Job Description
Responsibilities
Independently manages and services the most complex customer relationships within assigned portfolio of loans and deposits typically up to $60MM
- Manages the most complex relationships (credits, deposits, and fee based products/services) that require the most complex analysis
- Performs account/loan maintenance as required
- Acts as liaison for all customer inquiries, issues and account instructions; directs questions and requests as necessary if issues relate to other departments
- Provide guidance and support to junior staff regarding customer questions and issues
- Ensures accuracy of information, data, and documentation for all portfolio accounts and documents information in the CRM system
Independently manages credit risk through origination, documentation and monitoring, retaining ultimate accountability for all aspects of credit risk management
- For new and renewing loan requests, determines borrower credit-worthiness in accordance with credit policy and manages the request through the appropriate underwriting process
- Properly documents loan transactions
- Conducts review and administration of loans
- Manages enterprise risk for products and services, including depository services and cash management products such as ACH
Develops new sources of revenue within the existing portfolio.
- Reviews existing relationships for product penetration opportunities (loans, deposits, fees and non-credit products and services); issue proposals as appropriate.
- Identifies and refers business opportunities to internal product partners and other target market business lines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field required
- 10 years’ experience in commercial lending as a credit analyst, portfolio manager, or relationship manager including managing the most complex customers such as C&I and/ CRE transactions required
- Formal credit training experience preferred
- Advanced knowledge of financial lending regulations
- Advanced knowledge of credit philosophy and policies as well as loan documentation
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, as well as analytic and problem solving skills
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook (e.g. create templates, complete mail merges, insert and edit charts, create basic formulas, create queries)
- Ability to quickly make sense of, combine, and organize information into meaningful patterns
- Ability to effectively plan, manage, and delegate the work of others
