Index Analytics is seeking a Solutions Architect to support strategic growth opportunities and other significant corporate initiatives. The Solutions architect will work closely with the corporate leadership team in working on new business development opportunities and perform an active role in demonstrating technical thought leadership in RFP proposal responses. S/he will lead corporate initiatives from concept inception to roll-out and draft white-papers, presentations and other artifacts to demonstrate the successful outcomes. Experience and demonstrable expertise in one or more of the following functional areas is a must: product strategy, design thinking, user research and HCD-based design processes, cloud architecture, artificial intelligence, machine learning or other emerging technologies.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a thought leader and technical consultant to RFP proposal/capture team identifying solution components and drafting proposal responses.
- Active contributor or author drafting the proposal response clearly articulating the benefits of the technical approach.
- Partner with corporate leadership team to develop prototypes/POCs and present them to stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with program delivery and other team members to learn new technical and business concepts quickly and translate them into an easily understandable framework.
- Demonstrate positive energy and enthusiasm to delve into new and challenging technical and business problems and identify actionable approaches to mitigate those challenges.
- Be an active member of a product team working on corporate initiatives and serve in key roles such as Product Owner or a functional domain expert to move the initiative forward.
- Lead or support the efforts to design, build, secure, optimize and maintain scalable solutions in one or more managed cloud environments such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure.
- Mentor and grow strong teams across technologies spanning the breadth of application lifecycle development.
- Provide technical guidance, technology selection, proof-of-concepts, feasibility studies on new products in data management within the realms of an AWS implementation.
- Review, modify and manage thorough documentation of technical specifications, test cases, support turnover documents.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and help prioritize work and manage deployment risks.
- Mentor project staff on solution architecture, technology, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- US citizen or Authorized to Work and lived in the US for 3 of the last 5 years. Must be able to obtain a U.S. Federal government client badge and pass a government Public Trust.
- Bachelors degree in software engineering or related discipline
- 10 years of overall work experience.
- Significant and demonstrable experience in one or more of the following functional areas is a must: product strategy, design thinking, user research and HCD-based design processes, cloud architecture, artificial intelligence, machine learning or other emerging technologies.
- Should be considered an industry recognized thought leader in one of the above functional areas.
- 3 years working in a DevOps and Agile work environment.
- Working knowledge of cloud environments, Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment experience preferred
- Preferred experience working in an Agile environment
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and an ability to convert new and complex technical and business concepts into an easily understandable framework is a must.
- Should be comfortable to work with little or no direction,
- Should be comfortable to work in new, evolving and unfamiliar technical environments and technical infrastructure.
- Must be eligible to receive a federal government contract clearance (lived in the United States with a permanent address for three of the past five years).
- Previous Government contracting experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of Spark, Python, or Scala is a plus.
