What are the responsibilities and job description for the 3D Art Director position at INDG?
At INDG we're looking for a 3D Art Director, who will be responsible for continuous creative oversight and creation of stills, videos and interactive experiences for our wide range of clients. INDG does all things 3D, focusing on presenting physical products in digital space in all sorts of interesting ways.
About INDG
At INDG we develop technology that enables engaging, hyper-realistic digital product experiences. Our goal is to make "every product playable", by combining the science of technology with the artistry of computer-generated content. Our offices are in Amsterdam, Bucharest and New York. Clients include Adidas, Yamaha, Ralph Lauren, Electrolux, and Philips. Our CG artists, interactive designers, and developers focus on creating virtual versions of our clients' products, so lifelike it feels like you could reach out and touch them.
Our culture brings together creative, tech and business individuals. It’s a heady cocktail that keeps us inspired, empowered and passionate.
We are looking for someone with strong composition, lighting and art direction skills, who can guide an international team of experienced 3D artists. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset, owning projects from concept to delivery.
What will you be doing?
• Creating concepts and coming up with ways to explain them to clients and team members alike: via pitch decks, style proposals, storyboards, sketches, concept art, mood boards, mock-ups, you name it.
• Interpreting client briefs, identifying their needs and translating them into a clear direction for the team.
• Understanding what makes each brand unique and how to seamlessly integrate new elements into a brand universe.
• Creatively finding ways to bring something visually unique to every project, while meeting objectives and client expectations.
• Coordinating in-house and external teams, providing constructive feedback and approvals. Doing QA on 3D renders and helping artists to troubleshoot scenes to reach the desired look and quality levels.
• Overseeing all aspects of production from concept to delivery. Ensuring our projects meet the creative and visual quality we stand for, end-to-end.
Would be amazing if you have:
• Have 5 years of experience in a similar position.
• Love products. We do headphones, cars, motorcycles and MRI systems alike, so candidates should be prepared to understand how things work from day one, and understand the specific needs of different industries.
• Love humans. Art-directors inside INDG are in direct contact with brands, defending and explaining their concepts and with talented artists all over the world, leading the execution of these concepts.
• We are not going to ask you to love deadlines, but you should feel comfortable to lead the team through milestones even when time is tight and stress levels are high.
• An exceptional eye for detail. You have a portfolio or reel that reflects this.
• Strong passion and understanding for graphic composition.
• Following closely contemporary design and CG visual standards and trends.
• Strong understanding of lighting and how to direct to achieve a particular look.
• Have a hands-on attitude. You will be directing projects but are comfortable jumping into production where needed and even take smaller sized projects from start to finish.
• Fluent in English.
What do we offer?
Apart from an amazing team of enthusiastic professionals to learn from and a warm atmosphere where your input is welcomed and valued, we offer a comprehensive package to keep you happy. With the role being located in the heart of Amsterdam, our environment and our creative space are very important to us. We offer a competitive salary, paid annual leave, an office overlooking the Amsterdam canals, training and self-improvement plans, get fit schemes, a pool table, darts, fresh fruits, snacks, and dinner options each evening for those staying later than working hours.
