The purpose of this position is to assist the Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) Program in providing mental services to individuals, families and communities. The position is located at the Chinle Service Unit, Clinical Services, Counseling Services, Tsaile, AZ.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).

- One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-4 level obtained in either the public or private sector. Example of specialized experience: exercise mature judgement, reaches conclusions in services. provide treatment plans, interpret, works with others, follow ups with patients, uses available communication and information technology, etc.
- Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree, with major study or at least 24 semester hours in subjects directly related to the position.
- A combination of education and specialized experience listed above. One year of education is equivalent to 30 semester hours such education must include courses directly related to the work of the position.
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 level obtained in either the public or private sector. Example of specialized experience: interpret diagnosis, independently prepare case studies, provides clinical services, etc.

Responsibilities:

Applicants must apply separately for each announcement in order to be considered for each grade level.- Provide Navajo and English interpretation for clients, patients and general community.
- Exercise judgement and flexible using a wide range of therapeutic skills in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients.
- Provide community-based, integrated treatment plans and clinical services.
- Independently prepare and give interpretation of patient case studies and psychological history of patients.
- Follow-up with patients between scheduled primary case to ensure care plan is followed.
- Assist in organizing and working with the health/community teams to plan, develop and impletemnt integrated behavioral health programs.
Salary : $37,696 - $54,625
