Job Summary:


This position is responsible for providing oversite at an IHCC Service Center site. Main job duties include facility operations, delivery of customer and student support services, coordination of services, and handle routine decisions as related to departmental and college operations to serve IHCC’s rural communities within the 10 county area. This position will collaborate and maintain effective working relationships with community, business and K-12 school district(s) partners who utilize the facilities for academic, community, and training purposes and support both credit and non-credit programming.

Minimum Job Requirements:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required, post-secondary training or relevant work experience preferred.
  • Two years clerical/secretarial experience preferred.
  • Ability to interact effectively with people on phone and in person.
  • Ability to type, maintain and organize files.
  • Knowledge of word processing/database required.
  • Must be willing to work evening and weekend hours as needed. Some travel may be required.

Work Performed:

  • Greet students and clients, facilitate services, and maintain accurate records.
  • Schedule classrooms, assist instructional personnel to meet the objectives of courses/trainings, and provide logistical assistance to ensure course/training success.
  • Schedule and proctor onsite exams and placement tests.
  • Work closely with other IHCC departments to ensure an exceptional academic experience for students (i.e. high school programs, student support services, TRIO, etc.)
  • Provide assistance with technology, including computers, software, My Hills and Web Advisor applications.
  • Expand local outreach through promotional opportunities for credit and non-credit programs and assist with calling campaigns.
  • Provide building security, open/close building/classrooms during program use, maintain classroom/facility order, and follow established college policies and procedures.
  • Schedule and perform academic advising with current and future students, assist with student registration, withdraws, course cancellations, financial aid, academic checklist, etc. and provide logistical support for credit/non-credit courses. Refer students seeking specific assistance to the appropriate contacts.
  • Assist academic advisors with required online and advising orientations and provide students tutorials regarding use of college databases/website, etc.
  • Coordinate, support and deliver services for Continuing Education and Workforce Solutions (i.e. general interest, kid camps, business development and mandated courses). Provide assistance and support to instructors in the planning, coordination, execution and evaluation of programs and courses.
  • Provide team leadership with IHCC staff in performing any duties essential to the achievement of efficient center operations.
  • Responsible for general housekeeping and custodial duties to ensure facilities are well maintained, clean, accessible, and promptly report repairs needed for classrooms and equipment.
  • Manage part-time personnel as needed for site coverage.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance at work.
  • Interpret and follow oral and written instructions in detail with accuracy and efficiency
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

Position Level:
Office Level I, Non-Exempt, Traditional Funding, at will employment, on a letter of employment

Employment Length:
4 Term, Full Time, Benefits

Schedule:
Monday through Thursday 7:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Some nights and weekends required.

Salary Range:
$27,656.00 - 29,205.00 ($16.09-16.99)
