What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technician Specialist- EMA position at Indiana County?
Indiana County EMA is seeking an individual who has a desire to support First Responders throughout Indiana County and the counties of Southwestern Pennsylvania. This position is part of the County EMA’s HAZMAT and Tech. Rescue team and has the responsibility for maintaining the large cache of specialized first responder and rescue equipment associated with our operation. Additionally, this position provides routine maintenance for the EMA facilities and grounds and provides support to the radio system tower site service technicians in-house and through our contractors. This person would also be responsible for coordinating fleet maintenance with our various service providers for routine maintenance and inspection, or vehicle up-fits as the fleet is upgraded.
We are looking for someone who has a CDL operator’s license and training/certification to the OSHA 1910.120 and/or NFPA 472/1072/470 HAZMAT standard. Additional specialized training and certifications are available for an individual working in this position. The normal work hours are weekday’s, 8:00 am to 4:00 p.m.; with emergency call response required during off hours; during snow removal season on-call is provided seven days a week.
All tools and equipment are provided, uniforms are provided, and all levels of PPE is provided.
