Job Summary:
The Indianapolis Indians seek a candidate to assist its merchandise staff in the team’s daily operations, with an emphasis on branded team apparel. Those interested in a career in professional or collegiate athletics will gain experience and develop skills critical to beginning a career in sports merchandising. Applicants must have experience in customer service and work closely with others in the merchandise department on a daily basis for the duration of the Minor League Baseball season (March-September). Candidates are typically college students or recent graduates who will be living in the central Indiana.
Essential Functions:
- Vend programs and other merchandise as needed.
- Receive and inspect new merchandise along with adding new product to storage system.
- Assist in the preparation of all points of sale systems and maintain balance drawers at opening and closing shifts
- Operate cash register when needed.
- Assist with the opening and closing of our centerfield stand.
- Organize products in storage rooms and maintain cleanliness of storage rooms
- Maintain and restock of all shops on a game day basis
Minimum Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a college/university or obtained a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Previous experience in a sports environment and/or retail and customer service experience are strongly preferred. Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Preferred candidates would be available for all regular-season home games between March 31 and September 30. School and work scheduling conflicts must be brought to the coordinators attention at least one week prior to the assigned game.

- Ability to lift and carry boxes up to 50 lbs.
Dates: April 2024 – September 2024
Hours: Report time will typically be 2-3 hours before first pitch for most home games. Interns will generally stay 1 hour after the end of each game. (Generally, 6-8 hours total)
Compensation: $75 per game
