POSITION SUMMARY:
Indigo IT is seeking to add an IT Systems Technician to our growing field support team. This team is integral to ensuring the technology used by Customs and Border Protection are up to date and secure.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 technical support for the Department of Homeland Security and Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
- Maintain 24/7 network security to trade and passenger systems in various locations.
- Install, protect, administer, update and authenticate user access to sensitive systems, servers, hardware and software. Provide a record of all changes and configuration updates.
- Troubleshoot and fix network and client problems in both Novell and Active Directory.
- Support various IT rollouts, migrations, upgrades, etc.
- Install/configure laptops, tablets and mobile devices using to ensure compliance with government security protocols.
- Install and configure data backup systems and storage devices, antivirus software and server patches.
- Travel to or remotely access CBP sites to troubleshoot and repair servers.
- Manage Active Directory policies, scripts and permissions.
- Interface with the Network Operations Center (NOC) and Security Operations Center (SOC) for support of DNS WINS and Proxy.
- Report all suspicious activity to the CBP Computer System Incident Response Center (CSIRC).
- Participate in new hardware and software compatibility and usability testing.
- Interface with Electronic Mail Operations (EMOPS) regarding the Exchange Mail Systems.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Active Top Secret clearance or CBP Background Investigation REQUIRED
- 3 years experience troubleshooting/upgrading/migrating various IT systems (workstations, laptops, mobile devices, servers, printers, routers/switches)
- Working knowledge of LAN/WAN technology and network security protocols
- Experience troubleshooting software and hardware issues (Active Directory, Novell, Windows OS, McAfee, Symantec, etc)
- Familiarity with Remedy ticketing system or similar tool
- Ability to provide on-site and remote support at a variety of local locations
