What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Six Sigma Black Belt position at Indorama?
- Lead identified improvement efforts through all stages of the basic Six Sigma process (DMAIC, Lean, DMADV, etc.) across various areas of the organization while providing leadership and guidance for the people who are attached to project .
- Responsible for implementing improvement actions and measuring the results. Improvements focus on improved service delivery to customers and improved organizational productivity operating efficiency.
- Work closely with account management staff, take the lead on working directly with customers to develop solutions and resolve their specific issues. Represent Indorama in direct meetings with the customers to review and gain agreement on joint solutions.
- Document via flowcharting existing processes, identify fail points and develop solutions
- Conduct data and other analysis to determine root causes of service performance failure
- Research possible solutions in cooperation with IT or outside service delivery vendors
- Identify or conceptualize process system improvement
- Calculate financial cost & benefits; validate results with process owners
- Lead process improvement approval process for IT based solutions
- Develop improvement effort timelines, key milestones, and resource needs
- Determine improvement exit points
- Manage process improvement implementation, escalations, cost, and scope
- Provide coaching support to organization’s managers to support their improvement efforts
- Utilize change management techniques to ensure the improvements are sustained.
- Strong Finance and Audit background and project experience is required
- Ability to project manage and work independently across one or more active improvements.
- Ability to successfully interface with all levels and areas of the organization.
- Establish close working relationships with key areas of interface.
- Lead teams of cross functional business partners to effectively determine scope of improvement effort and business impact
- Coach team members to identify possible solutions and evaluate alternative courses of action and facilitates process to resolve differing views and positions.
- Ability to quantify impact to process metrics and financials
- Ability to comprehend new technology strengths and weaknesses to effectively match technology to possible business solutions
- Build consensus and support for chosen solution(s)
- Manage the impact of change on operational areas staff and customers and vendors
- Able to express information through strong verbal and written communications
- Must be skilled in the use of Microsoft suites of office products, specifically MS Project and Vision
- Have highly developed problem-solving skills
- Ability to analyze complex data to draw supportable conclusions and recommendations.
- Experience leading process improvement efforts focused on a service, financial or manufacturing environment
- Project management experience
- Working on project teams with a focus on desired outcomes
- Previous experience in consulting with clients (internal/external)
- Enthusiastic, energetic, and highly driven, with the desire to learn our business
- Ability to solve problems by implementing creative solutions
- Disciplined & organized, but flexible to meet the needs of the improvement effort
- Able to understand business processes and systems impact
- Able to successfully interface with all levels and areas of the organization and establish close working relationships
- Education– master’s degree in business, finance, or related field
- Experience and certification as a Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
- Experience with Minitab statistical software is desired.
