Job Title: Fabrication QA/QC Specialist

Reports To: QA/QC Director

FLSA Status: Exempt

Department: Quality Assurance/ Quality Control

Industrial Constructors/Managers, Inc. serves the manufacturing and process industries with safely executed industrial and commercial construction projects. Industries include mining and material processing, food and beverage, power generation, aerospace, pharmaceutical, transportation, engineering, and construction.

Industrial Constructors/Manager's, Inc. is seeking a Fabrication QAQC Specialist to join our team.

Summary: Plans, directs, and implements ICM’s quality management system in the fabrication department to ensure quality standards are met. Works in conjunction with the fabrication shop manager and the fabrication shop foreman.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Plans and implements quality policies and procedures in compliance with ICM’s Quality Management System (QMS).

Plans and implements programs to train managers and employees how to achieve quality work practices.

Inspects and audits production activities to ensure proper record retention and material traceability.

Determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.

Supervise and administer solutions for nonconformance activities to include but not limited to addressing work assignments, staffing, training, etc.

Provides information, project specs, codes, standards, and other materials to help identify potential problems.

Leads the investigation of all fabrication NCR’s, CAR’s, fabrication audits, and project spec adherence.

Review documentation to ensure all required records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted per established procedures, and implement appropriate corrective action as required.

Accompany all third-party verification experts, outside Inspectors, and auditors on walk through tours.

Attend quarterly quality meetings.

Manages, distributes, and checks shop drawings using current software.

Coordinates with project managers and detailers to ensure contract drawings are interoperated correctly and released for shop fabrication per AISC standards and contract specifications.

Performs in-process inspections for fabrication, welding, and painting operations.

Performs final inspections of completed work prior to shipping.

Perform additional assignments per Supervisor’s direction.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

2 years construction in metals fabrication, inspection, and testing.

Quality Assurance/ Quality Control experience.

Ability to read blueprints.

Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills.

Knowledge of AWS codes a plus.

Computer Skills:

Proficient computer skills using common business and software applications.

AutoCAD and SolidWorks a plus.
