Job Description / Summary
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Operate metal stamping presses and other sub-assembly operations as required.
- Maintains a constant watch of die and stock to prevent mishits and jamming of parts.
- Examine the finished product to ensure no quality defects and meets customer internal standards and specifications.
- Be present at new tooling try outs or engineering changes to ensure safety for operators and equipment.
- Make supervisor aware of any problems.
- Obtain first piece sample approval making appropriate die and machine adjustments.
- Assure last piece process and die history process is followed.
- Meet production efficiencies and maintain quality checks.
- Tag and move parts, containers, and totes.
- Maintain procedures for handling non-conforming parts.
- Maintain performance standard.
- Knowledge of First Off, Last Off quality inspections
- Process hourly/daily paperwork as required.
- Housekeeping- contribute to the effort to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all safety rules and regulations and report all incidents and unsafe conditions.
- Participate in activities to support continuous improvement.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the duties listed above. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or experience:
Previous manufacturing/ metal fabrication experience is preferred.
Knowledge of press safety. Must have good machining skills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications, control plans, and work instructions, and utilize measurement tools.
Language skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate efficiently in both written and oral form.
Mathematical skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference preferred.
Reasoning ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions and to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, squat and reach, grasp, push and pull using arms and legs. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics describes here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level is at a high level and this department REQUIRES ear protection!! The employee will encounter hydraulic and other oils as well and various types of metal components. **Department Hours are subject to change based on customer demands! ** Employees in this department should be prepared as hours change and can do so by request of the plant manager due to customer demands**.
General Hours 1st shift (8 hours) 7am – 3:30pm, (10 hours) 7am – 5:30pm
ALL PLANTS WILL BE ON THE BREAK SAME SCHEDULE
1st Shift: 10-minute break @ 9:00 am, 30-minute Lunch break @ 12:00 pm
Salary : $15 - $19
