Industrial Smoke & Mirrors, Inc
Orlando, FL Full Time
POSTED ON 1/11/2024 CLOSED ON 3/10/2024

What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Assembler position at Industrial Smoke & Mirrors, Inc?

Industrial Smoke and Mirrors (ISM) specializes in the design, analysis, and fabrication of world-class innovative simulation products including aircraft, weapons, maritime, ground vehicle simulators, and related components for Fortune 500 Companies, governments, and small businesses worldwide. Most of the simulators we build are for our troops, but we do also perform work for the commercial industry.

We have an impeccable reputation in the industry and are growing, so we are currently seeking a candidate who has an excellent eye for detail and is capable of multitasking to join our team as a Mechanical Assembler. The majority of our jobs are prototypes, so there will be constant changes and challenges to specific requirements on a project-by-project basis, so you won’t get bored!

Qualified candidates must be able to multi-task in different areas, read blueprints, work from drawings, and operate standard fabrication machinery (power tools, drill press, etc…). A minimum of 3 years in any metal fabrication capacity is a requirement. Experience in the fabrication and assembly of simulators are a plus, but not required. While this position will not initially be for a supervisor role, the possibility for promotion to a supervisor role in the future does exist, so previous leadership and/or supervisory experience is a big plus.

Candidates must also be able to work effectively both alone and as part of the team, be self-motivated, and pay extreme attention to detail. This position will also require assisting or leading on field installations, so you must be able to gain clearance to enter military bases.

Benefits include a great atmosphere, an air-conditioned shop, casual dress code, paid sick days, paid vacation, paid holidays, multiple health insurance policies to choose from, life insurance, disability insurance, a 401K with a matching contribution, and much more. ISM works on a 4/10 schedule and with limited occasional exceptions are closed every Friday-Sunday, so every weekend is a 3 day weekend! The schedule for the manufacturing department is Monday-Thursday, 6AM-4:30PM with a 30 minute lunch each day. Occasional weekends may be required based on schedule and work load.

If you feel you are a good match to join the ISM team, please email your resume to resumes @ industrialsmokeandmirrors.com (no spaces). To be considered for this position, you must reference the job title on your cover sheet or email to ensure that it goes to the correct supervisor as we may have multiple positions available.

*Please note that we are a Drug Free Workplace and you will be required to pass a background check. Any offer of employment is strictly contingent on the candidate's ability to take and pass the required drug test within 24 hours of the first offer of employment and to pass a background check. Failure to take the required drug test within 24 hours or failure to pass the required drug test or background check will immediately void any offer of employment made by Industrial Smoke and Mirrors, Inc.
