Senior Program Officer

Reporting to the CEO, the Senior Program Officer has scientific and managerial oversight of all facets of projects related to research that AAHI develops and implements. Success will be ensuring proper team management, timely delivery of program work plan, quality control of deliverables, and building partnerships with organizations and key stakeholders. They will be responsible for the successful implementation of programs by developing a deep knowledge of each project. The Senior Program Officer is accountable for all activities in the assigned portfolio of projects and must ensure a good working relationship with all relevant collaborators both internal and external.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with or lead scientific communications between internal and external stakeholders in partnership with CEO.
• Inform program strategy with expertise in the fields of virology and/or oncology in the context of vaccine research and development
• Serves as a point of contact for projects spanning cross-functional teams.
• Oversees project(s) from initial funding approval through completion (pre-award through post-award management and closeout).
• Determines, monitors, and reviews all project economics to include costs, operational budgets, staffing requirements, and risk.
• Provides ongoing project update reports to internal and external team and stakeholders.
• Ensures ongoing resource needs are captures and utilization rates are maintained across cross-functional teams.
• Identifies and manages risks and unforeseen challenges and changes in implementation conditions and settings.
• Develops project control and reporting procedures and manages changes in operational plan.
• Assist PIs and work with Sponsored Research Administration for submission of new grant and contract proposals.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners and other decisionmakers and leaders to gather their input and support on program strategies.
• Work with AAHI legal team members and external partners to draft and execute CDA, MTA, CRADA, Service Agreements and/or other legal contracts central to a project
