What you’ll do
- Provide leadership, maintain accountability of internal processes, and support the technical services team.
- Direct the technical services team on all aspects of account management.
- Serve as the technical point of contact for all major accounts.
- Oversee customer projects to ensure they are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Provide technical support relating to issues with internal systems and network infrastructures:
- VMware Virtualization technologies
- WAN, LAN and WLAN connectivity (routers, switches, access points and firewalls)
- VPN
- Complex server and storage data backup, migration, and recovery operations
- Work with various third-party software platforms and provide support services for Microsoft related technologies:
- Windows Server, Exchange etc.
- Upgrading said systems and software as needed.
- Collaborate with vendors to build strong relationships.
- Communicate with the management team to update products and services provided to customers.
- Seek potential Managed Services Customers with the IT Management Team.
- Provide 24/7 service.
- All other duties as assigned.
We would like to see
- Experience with project and organizational management.
- Experience managing people.
- Ability to be customer facing.
- Knowledge of best IT practices, regulations, and policies.
- Previous MSP (managed service provider) industry experience.
- Professional IT certifications preferred.
- Any experience with the following:
- Cisco
- VMware
- Dell SAN Storage
- Dell Server
- Ubiquiti
- ConnectWise
- A team-builder with excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- A self-starter who is motivated to learn technical material.
- Someone who displays a customer focus, while using their analytical skills, attention to detail, and patience.
Other potential requirements
- Sometimes we need to climb a ladder to get to equipment and we hope you can do this, too!
- Battery back-ups can be heavy! We all have to have the ability to move them from time to time.
- Our customers’ needs vary, sometimes they require outdoor work.
- Travel may be expected for this position. Travel can mean locally to a customer in a town nearby, or it could mean to a conference for extended learning.
Work environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and VoIP phones. Must perform job functions within company policy, principles, and business practices. Must maintain a clean and tidy workspace.
Position type & expected hours of work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
