The role of the Systems Administrator is to execute on the design, installation, and connectivity of computer systems, network infrastructure, and AWS cloud-based services to ensure operational stability of the Company’s IT Systems. This includes developing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all new and existing network hardware, software, cloud services and communication links. This role is also responsible for maintenance/management of the Company’s data center, disaster recovery or offsite facilities, telephony and security systems, and other electronic infrastructure.


The successful candidate for this position will be someone who has worked in a healthcare-focused, SaaS/product-based organization, and can manage and maintain infrastructure and environments for both client and internal networks. Responsibilities:

  • Administer core systems and applications: Office 365, Active Directory, SCCM, SCOM, Hyper-V, etc.
  • Administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights in Active Directory.
  • Configure and manage AWS: VPC, EC2, S3, IAM.
  • Manage and ensure effectiveness of servers, including e-mail, print, and backup servers.
  • Support various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS).
  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
  • Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Monitor system resource utilization, trending, capacity planning, and costs.
  • Perform change control and device configuration management activities on all responsible network equipment. Includes detailed documentation.
  • Practice asset management, including maintenance of system component inventory, life cycle management and related documentation.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation as it relates to server and network topology, equipment, and configurations for the core network and customers.
  • Manage and ensure effectiveness of security solutions, including firewalls, anti-virus solutions, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Provide on-call after hours and weekend support to provide expert recommendations for troubleshooting issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of current protocols and standards, including Active Directory, Group Policies, Office 365, Core Switching/Routing, SSL/IPSec, SAN, Virtualization, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery.
  • Ability to write scripts in a language such as PowerShell, Python, etc.
  • 3 years of AWS experience in system administration.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware and software.
  • Solid interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Health Care IT experience is a plus.

Physical Demands:

  • Light work: this position involves sitting, standing and/or walking. Position requires the ability to frequently exert up to 10 lbs of force to move objects. Ability to lift to 10 lbs. will be required on occasion.
