Job Description
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, an entrepreneurial drive, and a passion for networking with contacts across various markets. The Advertising Sales Manager will be responsible for developing the advertising revenue stream, managing client relationships, and driving new business across the Taylor & Francis journal portfolio.
What you'll be doing:
- Manage and develop existing advertising and sponsorship revenue streams to meet assigned targets
- Identify, maintain, and develop current and prospective customer accounts and actively pursue opportunities for growth and development
- Explore business development opportunities for the advertising function to further enhance offerings and partnerships across the portfolio working with internal stakeholders, customers, and collaborators for input
- Provide prospective clients (new leads, media planners, advertising agencies, etc.) with custom advertising options
- Manage account details through CRM software; track and share lead information throughout all stages of the sales process
- Produce regular reports on sales activity and business development opportunities
- Contribute to responses for external requests for proposals, new business proposals, management reports as needed
- Source new leads, meet with existing customers, and attend meetings and industry events as required
- Work in collaboration with colleagues to share information and ideas to achieve team goals
- Work and communicate with cross functional teams to address workflow changes, deadline adjustments, or billing activity as needed
- Develop and contribute to the strategic development of T&F’s advertising value proposition, product offerings, and continuous improvement plan
- Contribute to the short- and long-term strategic sales plan
- Manage third party partners or vendors that enhance current products or services
- Lead, manage and coach sales staff, as needed, to help align goals, strategies, and support for high performance/success
Qualifications

- Strong organizational skills with the demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced presentation skills at all levels of business
- Effective account management skills
- Ability to build and form strong relationships and partnerships both internally and externally
- Professional, confident, and goal oriented
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of advertising market and 5-8 years sales/marketing experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Previous experience with CRM software
Additional Information
