Pay Rates:
Week 1-3--training: $17/hr
Week 4-8: $20/hr
Week 9-End of Assignment: $21/hr
Job Description:
- The Member Services Representative will provide quality, professional, personalized service to all members according to Plan guidelines.
- They handle telephone, written, and walk-in inquiries in a courteous, professional, thorough manner to assure member satisfaction and education.
- The Member Service Rep will be on the phone all day.
- They use problem-solving skills and knowledge of benefits, claims/membership policies, and procedures to assure the correct application of benefits.
- They assess when further action is required by sending inquiries promptly to the research team for appropriate action.
- They have the ability to utilize a variety of computer software programs and written materials to access information needed to assure accurate responses to questions.
- The Member Services Representative provides assistance to the Member Services Department by performing special projects to aid in the smooth functioning of the department.
- They interact professionally and effectively with members, management, and other departments demonstrating compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence, and thoroughly document all inquiries within 24 hours of member or customer contact.
- They provide input to management on problem trends or patterns to assure correct processing and/or enhance member education.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- A high school diploma or GED and a minimum of two years of experience in a customer services role required
- Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, HMO, PPO, or other health insurance organizations preferred
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as department instructions and procedure manual
- Knowledge of medical terminology and or history of customer service preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, good grammar, problem-solving and organizational skills required
- Previous CRT entry skills and typing a minimum of 35 words per minute required
- Ability to maintain confidential information; ability to communicate on telephones, in writing, and in person required
- Ability to function well under pressure while contributing to a supportive work team
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
