Job Title: Lead BI Engineer/Architect
Location: Dallas, TX, Onsite
Duration: Long-term
Qualifications:
- 15 years of experience in BI & Data Warehousing
- Should have in depth knowledge on Power BI and atleast 6 years of Power BI experience
- Should have expertise in DAX language, T-SQL
- Should have work experience in developing reports in Power BI report Builder
- Should have experience in analyzing the M-language
- Should have Microsoft Power BI Certification
- Should have executed atleast 6 Power BI projects
- Should be proactive in client engagement and demonstrate excellent communication skills
- Should have led a team of 15 members and done business stakeholder management
- Should have worked atleast 4 projects using Agile/SAFe methodology
- Should have working experience on any DevOps tools like GitHub, Jenkins, etc
- Should have written complex SQL queries for data analysis and visualization
- Should have in depth understanding on Data Warehousing, Data Analysis, Data Profiling, Data Quality & Data Mapping
- Should have cross global location experience and been part of a team of atleast 20 members in a global delivery model
- Should have experience in working with product managers, project managers, business users, applications development team members, DBA teams and Data Governance team on a daily basis to analyze requirements, design, development and deployment technical solutions
Responsibilities:
- Analyze the requirements, data sources, profile data, segregate types of reports, understand & document any Data Quality issues
- Analyze and map report functionality, visualization & metrics in order to visualize the reports and data in Power BI
- Analyze and document schedule, triggers/events and row level security
- Write complex SQLs to extract & format data for Power BI Dashboards
- Analyze the existing user, user groups and access levels and create Power BI Workspaces and configure accesses
- Perform dataflow, system and data analysis and develop meaningful and useful presentation of data in Power BI
- Create design documents, Source to Target Mapping documents and any supporting documents needed for deployment/migration
- Design, Develop and Test BI Dashboards & Reports
- Build the reporting data model and help the data engineering team with creating views , SQL scripts
- Write Unit Test cases, execute Unit Testing and document Unit Test results
- Deploy BI Dashboards & Reports
- Monitor & support the BI Dashboards/Reports post deployment
- Use DevOps tools to version, push/pull code and deploy across environments
- Support team during troubleshooting & debugging defects & bug fixes, business requests, environment migrations & other adhoc requests
- Maintain and improve already existing processes
- Ensure that the BI Dashboards & Reports are stable, secure, maintainable and highly available
- Work with business in designing and delivering correct, high-quality data
