ESG Operations, an Inframark Company, is hiring a Maintenance Technician in Winder, GA. In this position, you perform the maintenance and repair of components associated with water and wastewater facilities. Duties include maintenance and repair of water and wastewater equipment including bearings, seals, pumps, gearboxes, and electrical systems.
Duties and responsibilities
- Prioritize throughout the day to resolve maintenance problems requiring immediate attention; ensure compliance with departmental safety regulations.
- Respond to emergency calls for equipment failures.
- Install, check, and repair electrical components.
- Perform inspections of pump stations and machinery to ensure proper functioning and compliance with local and federal laws and regulations.
- Repair machinery as required; complete work orders, explaining repair procedures performed and replacement parts used.
- Perform preventive maintenance on facility pumps and machinery, such as checking oil to ensure adequate quantity and lubricating moving parts.
- Perform minor maintenance of plant and shop areas as needed.
- Operate weedeaters and lawnmowers at pump stations to maintain grounds.
- Maintain repair and maintenance equipment of responsibility.
- Coordinate repair and maintenance work with department heads.
- Set up and maintain a record system; processes daily paperwork including reports, logs, and requisitions.
- Gather and maintain information/data to support periodic and special reports documenting activities for area of responsibility.
- Fill in as wastewater treatment plant operator as needed, to include lab testing and pump schedule modifications.
- Attend safety classes, reinforce and comply with company safety policies
- Works harmoniously with ESG employees and the public and comply with ESG policies
Qualifications
Prefer one year of related experience. High School Diploma or GED and the equivalent of one year of college or specialized vocational training in electrical, plumbing or a closely related field. Must have a valid state driver’s license and meet minimum driving standards.
Knowledge of:
- Math to apply fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions, measurements, or logarithms; may use
- algebraic solutions of equations and equalities, deductive geometry, and/or descriptive statistics.
- Electrical systems with voltage up to 480.
- Computerized maintenance management software used by ESG
Skill in:
- Leading or handling machines, tools, equipment or work aids involving moderate latitude for judgment regarding attainment of a standard or in selecting appropriate items such as power tools, trucks, or hand tools.
- Utilizing computerized tablets
- Use of an electrical multi-meter
Ability to:
- Compile, examine, or evaluate data or information and possibly recommend action based on results.
- Read professional publications; compose complex reports and manuals.
Physical requirements
This position requires frequent standing, kneeling, bending and climbing. The employee must be able to use hands to operate and manipulate tools and equipment. This position requires very heavy physical exertion including the ability to lift over 50 pounds and exert over 100 pounds of force on a regular basis. The employee must be willing to work non-standard and overtime hours as required. The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing, and depth perception.
