Description
Duties. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will:
- Establish and maintain positive clinical rapport with patients and their families, working closely with them in the provision of infusion therapy.
- Use their highest level of education and experience to perform age-appropriate assessments for complex acute and chronically ill patients prior to infusion treatment, while providing education to the patient/family along the way.
- Initiate and document appropriate interventions; evaluate and record patient/family response within practice protocol; prescribe drug therapies per protocol/physician consultation. Monitor the effectiveness of treatment and interventions.
- Assist in other patient care activities, including, but not limited to, initiation of IV access, obtaining and monitoring vital signs, administration of oral and/or IV medication, lab draws and other tests.
- Participate in clinical research trials.
- Document all patient care activities and interventions as required by organizational policy and procedure and law and regulation.
- May supervise the activities of clinical nursing and support staff.
Compliance. The nurse practitioner acknowledges and agrees that he or she is subject to, and will at all times abide by and comply with all reimbursement laws and regulations and all contract terms applicable to the Company’s contracts with Medicare, AHCCCS and other governmental and private payors. Without limiting the foregoing, the nurse practitioner agrees that any and all documentation that he or she submits for reimbursement purposes, will accurately and completely represent all services performed by him/her.
Requirements
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Minimum: Graduate of Advanced Nurse Practitioner degree.
Preferred: none
Experience
Minimum: 1 year of post-graduate experience
Preferred: 2 years of experience in infusion setting, or immediate care setting.
Certification / Licensure
Requirement: Currently licensed to practice medicine as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Arizona
*If candidate carries any certifications, licenses, etc., it is expected that all are renewed by the expiration date to remain compliant.
Vision Requirements:
Visual Acuity: Visual acuity of at least 20/40 or better
Depth Perception: ability to judge distance and space relationships
Color Vision: ability to distinguish and identify different colors
Physical Job Requirements:
Frequent light physical effort (lift, carry, push, pull up to 10 lbs.)

May be exposed to heat, wetness, odors in kitchen and/or patient areas
Subject to interruptions

Handles absentee replacement on short notice

May be exposed to airborne diseases requiring use of N95 respirator or comparable substitute
