About the position:
In this role you will be the driving force behind the firm’s framework of internal control over financial reporting. Using your analytical mindset and independent thinking, you will identify opportunities to make internal controls more effective and efficient. You will also use this when comparing internal controls with internal and external standards and management’s expectations. This all works towards one goal: having the best-in-class financial reports.
About the department:
This position is part of the newly formed Policies & Procedures within the Finance function of ING Americas. The purpose of the team is to guide the organization in the application of accounting standards, regulatory requirements and internal control expectations. This is in close cooperation with Finance management, the business, Legal, Compliance and ING colleagues around the world.
Responsibilities:
- Advice on the design of internal control over financial reporting, taking into account internal and external standards
- Identify opportunities to make internal controls more effective and efficient, and act on those opportunities in cooperating with stakeholders
- Review existing controls to form an opinion on their design
- Maintain documentation to support the internal control framework
Qualifications and Competencies
- Undergraduate / Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar field
- At least 3 years of experience designing or assessing internal controls over financial reporting
- Analytical and independent thinking
- Clear and accurate communication
Salary Range: $100,000 -$135,000
