Biochemist

Ingredion is hiring a Biochemist in the Biotransformation Platform to support various aspects of R&D activities. The Biochemist will be expected to work in a cross-functional team to design and execute experiments in molecular biology and biochemistry. Core Responsibilities: Apply biochemistry, molecular biology, biotechnology knowledge and skills to provide support for biotransformation projects. Support biochemistry and molecular biology subject matter experts and execute biochemistry and molecular biology experiments. Collect, prepare and test samples from experiments in accordance with established SOPs and protocols. Operate liquid handling, microtiter plate-based protein expression and purification automated systems, imagers, electrophoresis units, thermocyclers, etc. Analyze data, record and document all stages of work, operate Lab information & knowledge management system (ELN etc.). Maintaining, calibrating, cleaning and ensuring operational readiness of the equipment. Controlling and maintaining stock of necessary consumables. Other assigned duties and responsibilities. Qualified candidates will have: Min BSc degree in microbiology, biotechnology or related field with 3 years working experience. Hands-on experience in basic molecular biology, enzyme expression, purification, characterization, and analysis. Understanding of biochemistry, enzymology, modern molecular biology & enzyme engineering, and synthetic biology.
