The Program Manager, Events Specialist within the Consumer Drug TakeBack team will be responsible for planning and executing individual drug collection events in designated areas throughout their assigned region. The events will take place primarily around Sacramento, California, the Bay area and Northern Oregon. The Program Manager will be provided with a target number of events in their assigned region to plan and execute upon. Candidates should be located in Sacramento, California area. Must be willing to travel overnight to the Bay area as well as to the northern portion of Oregon. 50-75% overnight travel required. Primary Accountabilities: Operational 100% The Program Manager, Events Specialist will be responsible for developing relationships with local contacts (city hall, departments of health, etc.) and working with these established contacts to plan events. Identify physical locations in around Sacramento, California, the Bay area and northern portion of Oregon where an event needs to take place. “Cold calling” and identifying physical targets for these events to take place Ensure that all appropriate reporting is completed for each event, is compiled in accordance with jurisdictional requirements, and is shared with the Program Manager for annual reporting. Responsible for identifying the best point of contact at each physical location that identifies themselves as a decision maker and who has the authority to sign off on contracts and usage of their physical space. Developing and establishing relationships with local, county or state level law enforcement personnel who will be necessary participants at each event in accordance with federal requirements. They will need to work with autonomy to make connections at each law enforcement agency; to find the correct team within that agency; and petition for their support and participation at each event. Planning all aspects of each event – the process of coordinating and planning the logistics of the entire event, managing the event on site, and ensuring that all collected medication is sealed and appropriately delivered to the common carrier shipping facility with the oversight of law enforcement. This includes but is not limited to tables, chairs, liners for drug collection, appointments with FedEx for drop-off, law enforcement oversight and escort, etc. Execute a defined number of events in the assigned area. Their performance will be based primarily on a target number of events. Start the contractual process by obtaining the necessary information from site and law enforcement contacts. Ensure that the contract information is complete, and forward to Events Manager for approval through the legal department. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree preferred or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for this position 2-4 years of planning and executing events (specific industry experience a plus) Proficient with Gsuite, Microsoft Office, and Salesforce Experience with EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) type programs or collection events (Hazardous Household Waste events, previous collection events, etc.) highly preferred. Overnight travel required 50-75%. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including some nights and weekend to support the business. Must be located in the Sacramento, California area and be willing to travel overnight to the Bay area as well as to the northern portion of Oregon.
