SUMMARY
Responsible for pairing wine/suggesting wine to guests.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Accomplish prep/side work as assigned to ready the operation for service
- Be present/focused on the operation during service
- Pour pairing wines for our prix fixe menus in a timely manner
- Explain via one-liners the wine pairing
- Help sell bottled wine as instructed by DoW during service
- Maintain the aesthetic of assigned station: guest tabletop/work area
- Complete closing duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ years fine dining floor experience as server
- 1+ years fine dining floor experience as assistant wine steward
- Basic knowledge of major wine regions/producers
- 1st-2nd level certification from accrediting organization (W.S.E.T/C.M.S)
- Some travel and personal experience visiting producers/vineyards in major growing areas
- Basic reference points of Michelin and fine dining establishments in U.S and abroad

- Excellent guest service skills
- Excellent relationship extension skills
- Intense desire to continue to learn wine and grow professionally
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must lift 40 lbs repeatedly during a shift
- Must be able to stand and walk briskly for up to 8 hours
- Must be able to transport heavy items to day cellars (up to 200 lbs on a cart)
