Job Description

Inova Fairfax Research Center has a great opportunity for a Research Manager-Surgery to join their dynamic team at Fairfax hospital.

The Manager of Research supervises staff in carrying out complex research activities and producing research deliverables. Ensures that the department remains compliant with all applicable regulations while managing the financial and academic portfolio.

This is a full-time Monday-Friday 40-hr/week position.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversees assigned department or functional area to ensure it is performing effectively, which may include but not limited to, hiring and training team members, creating and implementing business strategies, managing performance of team members, and delegating tasks.
• Ensures all program research studies are complying and functioning appropriately.
• Ensures appropriate educational information is made available on Inova's public website for research purposes.
• Initiates corrective action plans, as required, to maintain compliance with Inova policies.
• Develops and oversees research study budget, negotiation and implementation to ensure selected research studies have an adequate subject population and will result in financially and academically productive research.
• Supervises research program staff in carrying out complex research activities and producing research deliverables.
  
  

Qualifications

Experience:

• Three (3) years of research or project management experience required
• Experience overseeing clinical trials and research preferred
• Nursing experience preferred
  
  

Education

• Bachelors Degree in Health Administration or related field of study.
