Inova Northern Virginia Surgery Center is a full service ambulatory outpatient facility. We are licensed, Medicare certified, and AAAHC accredited. We are seeking an experienced OR RN with exposure to all varieties of cases, to provide quality patient care using the nursing process, the medical plan of care, and organizational policies.
HOURS: Full-time, day shift
RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
- Circulates for surgical procedures as assigned.
- Provides communication between team members in the surgical field and persons outside the operating room.
- Maintains sterile environment during the surgical procedure.
- Conducts and documents sponge/sharps and instrument counts as required during the surgical procedure in conjunction with the OR technician.
- Completes intra-operative documentation of the procedure.
- Acts as patient advocate during their stay in the operating room.
- Assists with room turnover, including disposal of trash and linen, cleaning of OR table and floor, assembly and opening of sterile supplies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- One year of operating room nursing experience, required.
- Scrubbing experience a plus, but not required.
- Current RN license (Virginia or Compact)
- BLS certification, required
