Job Responsibilities
- Performs psychosocial/physiologic assessments that integrate changing data as documented in procedure notes. Tailors and prioritizes caring practices to individual needs, including cultural/ethical/spiritual needs.
- Participates in the planning of routine transitional healthcare needs (e.g. treatment options). Responds to changes in patient needs and provides holistic care.
- Makes independent clinical decisions based on knowledge drawn from education and experience, as documented in procedure notes. Identifies variances from expected outcomes. Immediately recognizes and responds to adverse clinical situations and directs others to assist in a favorable patient outcome.
- Assists the healthcare team with the documentation process. Formulates a plan of care based on trends of similar patients.
- Acts as a clinical resource and serves as a mentor to health care team members while displaying leadership behaviors. Identifies own learning needs based on self-evaluation and the progress made from the previous year's goals.
- Consistently enters patient charge information accurately and maintains statistical data for the outcome report to include ACC and Hi-IQ data bases.
- Appropriately delegates patient care activities to other health care team members and participates in making and revising staff assignments. Takes initiative to participate in efficient and timely room turnover.
- Calibrates, operates and troubleshoots a wide variety of equipment and instruments. Selects appropriate instruments and supplies based on patient presentation during procedure. Monitors the EKG, hemodynamic pressure and other physiologic data during the procedure.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements
Certification - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Basic Life Support obtained within 90 days of hire; Registered in one of the following or must obtain within one year of hire: RCIS, RCES, RTRVI, RTRCV, RTRCI, unless a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Licensure - Registered Nurse Within 12 Months RN licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required only if the certification requirement for RCIS, RCES, RTRVI, RTRCV, or RTRCI cannot be obtained within one year.
Experience - None required
Education - Associate Degree Nursing Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and /or graduate of an accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology or Radiology Technology or equivalent education and experience. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and /or graduate of an accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology or Radiology Technology or an RCIS with equivalent education and experience.
