Day- to – day tasks include, but not limited to the following:
- Works with the Executive Team to coordinate planning and establish priorities for the planning process.
- Coordinate the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, and perform regular financial analysis.
- Manage and oversee the accurate and timely set up of new projects, timely entry of change orders and closing projects within the accounting system.
- Oversee and review all month-end closing activities including general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts, and overhead cost.
- Lead and mentor the finance team members with the goal of developing and retaining an effective and efficient team of finance and accounting professionals.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of Work in Progress (WIP) and revenue recognition in the construction industry
- Perform other duties as requested by the CFO.
Requirements:
- Knowledgeable with construction project documentation controls in relation to project set-up, change orders, and closeout within the accounting software
- Knowledgeable with cost codes/ job cost.
- Knowledgeable with bonding (insurance) companies.
- Knowledgeable with lending institutions.
- Knowledgeable with cash flow and forecasting.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required.
- Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
- 10 years of experience in financial management in construction/ electrical industry
- 5 years of Spectrum accounting software or similar software
- Experience as a CFO
- Managing multiple state sales, use and property taxes
Working/ Environment/ Physical Demands to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a stationary position that requires frequent sitting or standing, repetitive wrist motions, grasping, speaking, listening, close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Employees in this position must be physically able to efficiently perform the essential functions of the position.
