JOB DESCRIPTION
Use data visualization tool to analyze data and develop Business Intelligence dashboard. Maintain dynamic web- enabled reports/queries for the enterprise using Actuate e.Report Designer. Be responsible for ETL development , script writing and SQL query development so that data can be extracted, transformed, and loaded across multiple platforms. The Data Analyst will also be involved in the day-to-day production support, maintenance, and development of the existing corporate data warehouse, operational transactional data models, and data marts to support new and existing applications.
- Collaborates with team members to analyze and solve data and/or process issues.
- Works with the Data Administration Senior Staff on Actuate, Tableau and iWay upgrades.
- Extracts, transforms and loads data derived from disaggregated data sources to support the business requirements. This could be done by using tools such as iWay ETLs, scripts, DB2 import/export features and COBOL program.
- Develops and maintains Actuate reports and BI dashboards that provide reporting across the entire business; continually review and ensure data integrity for all reports.
- Works with Senior Staff to develop logical data model (LDM) & physical data model (PDM) to support all applications on the operational database.
- Works with Senior Staff to develop logical data model (LDM) & physical data model (PDM) to support the Data Warehouse OLAP and BI applications.
- Monitors batch jobs, communicate and troubleshoot issues with data integrity, database design, functional and technical software issues.
- Responsible for writing and maintaining Window scripts.
- Responsible for file transfer protocol (FTP) of data files to and from outside vendors.
- Maintains batch job flow, data process flow and other design documentations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- 4-5 years of experience and a computer science, IT, or data management education/background
- Experience in a development and analysis role in an enterprise setting
- Knowledge of Data Warehousing methodologies and concepts, including and not limited to: star schemas, snowflakes, and dimensional modeling.
- Experience with Visio, Power Designer or other data modeling tools.
- Strong SQL knowledge will be required for writing efficient SQL to obtain data.
- Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Tableau.
- Knowledge about ETL tools, experience with ETL tools such as TIBCO iWAY Data Integrator.
- Hands-on experience using OpenText Actuate e.Report Designer or other reporting tools.
DESIRED SKILLS
- Experience with DB2 on z/OS and Linux.
- Experience with FTP tool such as MOVEit.
- Hands-on experience with database query tools such as AQT.
- Experience with COBOL programing, JCL and MVS
