JOB DESCRIPTION
Insight Global is seeking an Industrial Hygienist for a large environmental engineering firm sitting in Northern California to support various environmental projects. This position will support a variety of contracts, including federal, state, local, and commercial clients. Duties will include field sampling and investigations, report writing, proposal writing and may require extensive outdoor work as well as overnight travel.
Manage multiple hazardous materials (asbestos, lead paint, mold, universal wastes, etc.) projects simultaneously for both government and private clients, including surveys, preparation of technical specifications, and third party oversight work.
Track, manage, prepare, and review proposals.
Track, manage, prepare, and review a variety of asbestos technical reports including technical specifications, health and safety plans, air sampling plans, survey plans, and oversight reports.
Apply federal, state, and local regulations related to hazardous materials and occupational health and safety to the performance of project work.
Provide on-site third party oversight of abatement contractors, including assessing compliance with regulations, conducting visual clearance, and collecting air clearance samples.
Conduct sampling efforts.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
2-3 years’ experience of environmental consulting or industrial hygiene
Previous experience with hazardous materials, specifically conducting asbestos, lead-based paint and mold surveys
Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC) certification
Experience providing on-site third party oversight of abatement contractors, including assessing compliance with regulations, conducting visual clearance, and collecting air clearance samples.
Understanding of Hazardous Waste Regulations
Understanding of proposals and task order response development
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
DESIRED SKILLS
Bachelor's Degree Environmental Science, Geology or Engineering.
Current EPA AHERA Asbestos Inspector certification, EPA Lead Risk Assessor/Inspector certification.
