Job Description
Alphatec is looking for a Staff UI/UX Designer to join their growing Research and Development team in Carlsbad, CA. This person will be responsible for leading design efforts for the R&D and marketing teams. This designer will help drive continuous improvements to the organization's applications through partnering closely with the marketing team and implementing user feedback into their designs. In addition, this person will illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps and will design graphic user interface elements. It is crucial that this person is not only able to collaborate with the engineering/technical teams but is also able to break down design elements and strategy in layman's terms while collaborating with functional teams/departments. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written will also be essential for this role.
- Previous experience working in the medical device field
- Experience creating designs for embedded systems
- 5 years of experience working as a UI/UX Designer
- 3-4 years of experience creating designs for both Web and Mobile applications
- Experience with design tools such as AdobeXD, Figma, Sketch, etc.
- Strong background in creating workflows, wireframes, and storyboards
- Proven ability to work cross functionally with other departments as well as the ability to present to stakeholders
