Responsibilities
- Claim review: Ensuring that medical codes and information are accurate
- Claim filing: Submitting claims to the appropriate resources
- Reimbursement: Overseeing health care reimbursements for patients who qualify for medical insurance
- Patient information: Collecting and maintaining patient information, including employment and insurance information
- Payer identification: Identifying payers other than Medicare to minimize incorrect billing and overpayments
- Primary or secondary payer: Determining if Medicare is the primary or secondary payer
- Claim status: Monitoring claim status and following up on unpaid or rejected claims
- Insurance inquiries: Handling insurance inquiries
- Claim issues: Resolving any claim issues
Experience
- Meditech experience and DDE system
- Familiarity with benefits administration is advantageous
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
