General Summary: The Physician liaison services coordinator is responsible for managing accounts from external providers. This includes scheduling appointments, tests, obtaining missing information, and being the main representative/ambassador between the referring physician/clinic and Insight's services. They must be organized, have strong interpersonal and communication skills and understand the importance of maintaining and building strong relationships.
These duties are to be performed in a highly confidential manner, in accordance with the mission, values and behaviors of Insight Hospital and Medical Center. Employees are further expected to provide a high quality of care, service, and kindness toward all patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and guests.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the following tasks:
- Maintaining physician relationships
- Scheduling patients appointments obtained from referring physicians
- Connecting patients with resources they need (medicaid, food stamps, etc)
- Bridge any gaps between the referring provider and Insight
- Provide constant communication with external providers to streamline the process of sending referrals and troubleshooting any issues that come up
- Comforting patients by anticipating patients' anxieties, answering patients' questions
- Recording nd collecting patient information for follow-up appointments
- Protecting patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information, HIPAA compliance
- Extending excellent patient care to ensure patient comfort and satisfaction
- Perform any other duties and tasks as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:
- High School Diploma required, Undergraduate degree preferred
- Good oral/written communication skills required
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to read work orders and/or receive verbal instructions required
- Ability to work with technology to receive/process referrals
- Ability to work with Microsoft office (excel, word, etc)
- SMILE
- Excellent customer service
- Ability to have dependable transportation
