Insite Performance LLC is seeking a Footwear Biomechanics Testing Manager to join our Research Team. The Footwear Testing Manager will be responsible for managing our CA based Footwear Biomechanics testing program along with growing and managing the local testing team. Reporting to the Director of Research, the Footwear Biomechanics Testing Manager will support business growth through the collection of data used to impact product creation.
This position will be based in the West LA / Santa Monica area of California and will include on site testing assignments, remote and office-based work along with the potential for domestic travel.
Responsibilities
The Footwear Biomechanics Testing Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Recruit and manage a database of test participants
- Schedule and organize testing sessions
- Perform biomechanical data collections across all sports (running, basketball, soccer…etc.)
- Analyze and evaluate data sets
- Conduct and manage all stages of data processing
- Present & Report testing and study results in a timely manner
- Maintain lab equipment
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding testing, test participants, and results.
Qualifications
- BSc in Biomechanics or related field (i.e., Exercise and Sport Science, Engineering, Kinesiology, Human Factors, Ergonomics), required; MSc preferred
- Be highly skilled with tester recruitment
- Be able to initiate research, and think through projects and problems independently
- An understanding of engineering concepts, statistical analyses, and coding (MATLAB, R, Python, etc.)
- Possess the ability to learn new software quickly, troubleshoot data collection/computer related issues, and provide a high attention to detail
- Well organized with prior experience collecting and analyzing large data sets independently
- 1 years of independent biomechanics research experience using tools such as Motion Capture, Force Plates, Electromyography and Plantar Pressure Insoles, preferred
- A strong understanding of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning tools currently used in the biomechanics field, preferred
- Comprehension of historical and current footwear biomechanics literature, preferred
- Experience using research to directly impact consumer products and/or product creation
- Knowledge of footwear and/or product creation processes
- Fluent in English, multi-lingual a nice to have, but not required
- Professional approach in handling confidential and sensitive business, customer and/or employee issues
- Able to champion new ideas, manage change, and execute on action plans.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Office 365/Microsoft Suite
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
