GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) Navigator is responsible for assisting with recruitment, collaboration with community partners, data collection, marketing, and raising public awareness. This person will conduct community outreach within focused areas, provide PrEP and PEP navigation services, including HIV/STD testing, will keep client records, and contribute to program reporting requirements. This position requires a high level of cultural competency in the unique needs of communities of color and among the LGBTQIA community. The ability to work with a team, be self-motivated, and operate in a fast-moving environment is mandatory.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct outreach to identify and engage community members around health and wellness activities.
- Attend and participate in team meetings, communicate with county and community-based agencies and professionals.
- Provide confidential assessment to determine HIV prevention needs of clients.
- Develop and maintain relationships and resources that can serve as a culturally appropriate network of PrEP/PEP providers.
- Build and maintain a positive rapport with community organizations and partners.
- Collect and report data on program activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICAITONS
Demonstrates cultural competency and ability to relate to people living with HIV/AIDS, gay/bisexual men, trans individuals, as well as individuals from diverse socio-cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
EDUCATION
The knowledge and skills listed above may be acquired through various types of education, training, or experience, typically:
Completion of a GED or high school diploma
OR
At least two years of community-based experience providing community engagement at large to underserved populations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $34,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

- Jackson, MS: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
