Controller

Job Description:

Seeking a Controller for a direct hire position for a small company in Montgomeryville, PA. This is a hybrid position. This position has one person reporting to it. This position directs the Financial and Accounting activities, identifying changes and trends in the company’s financial performance and advises senior management accordingly. Oversees all financial transactions, ensuring compliance with all GAAP, company standards, and U.S. tax standards. Thoroughly involved in the budgeting and planning process and responsible for controlling and reporting the differences between the budget and actual results. Ensures that the Risk Management goals of the company are maintained with proper amounts of infrastructure and insurance programs. This position manages a staff of accounting personnel and provides direction, vision, and coaching for improved performance. Oversees the Order Entry, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Asset and General Ledger functions. Maintains the standardization of activities using the ERP system and internal departmental processes.

Responsibilities:

Finance & Accounting Management (80%)

• Oversees the generation and analysis of financial reports, including G/L transactions, Account Reconciliation, Statement Preparation and recording into the company’s Consolidating database.
• Ensures timely distribution of financial reports to company management, local HQ, and corporate management.
• Facilitates accounts receivable risk mitigation by performing credit management, collection activities and contract reviews.
• Ensures timely payments to suppliers, while also managing cash conversion cycle.
• Manages the acquisition, depreciation, tracking, and disposal of fixed assets.
• Oversees a FIFO costing system and distributes cost data to managers.
• Provides oversight of all payroll processing activities.
• Manages the planning and budgeting process, as well as analyzing and reporting results compared to plan and suggesting corrective actions.
• Identifies opportunities for process improvement, thereby reducing repetitive manual operations.
• Performs processing of non-standard new orders, including pre-payment invoicing and contract engineering orders.
• Manages a small staff of accounting professionals and/or contractors who provide externally sourced accounting and insurance services to the organization.
• Ensures that the team provides needed support throughout the company as required.
• Coordinates the functioning of the ERP system, overseeing process improvements and troubleshooting problematic issues with consultant.

Risk Management and Compliance (15%)

• Performs credit checks and approves terms for new customers.
• Ensures company has appropriate insurance coverage to meet the needs of the business, comply with contractual obligations, and is compliant with parent company requirements.
• Prepares annual review documents to our insurance carriers for renewal quotations.
• Prepares documentation to our Corporate Tax group for use in their annual tax returns.
• Prepares and supports documentation to our external auditors for completion of their annual audit.
• Prepares and supports documentation on a bi-annual basis for our Internal Audit group.

Benefits Management (5%)

• Manage healthcare, retirement, and other benefits accounts in coordination with HR and HQ benefits team.

Skills:

· Bachelor’s Degree (required)

· 8 years of Controller experience (required)

· Experience with cash flow analysis forecasts and monthly reporting (required)

· Experience working in/with a small company (required)

· Experience with Risk Management (preferred)

· Experience with ERP systems (preferred)

· Experience working in manufacturing (preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $140,000.00 per year
