About Our Client: Our Client is a prominent leader in the ownership and operation of renewable energy projects across the United States. With a robust portfolio encompassing over 10 gigawatts of contracted capacity from 70 projects across 24 states, Our Client is dedicated to driving sustainable energy solutions in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Position Overview: Our Client seeks a versatile individual to join their strategy team as an Associate Director, Deputy Director, or Director (title dependent on experience). This pivotal role involves evaluating project risk-adjusted returns and spearheading diverse transactions, including securing project offtake agreements, leading mergers and acquisitions, managing bespoke financings, and orchestrating asset sell-downs. The role requires close collaboration with various departments within Our Client, such as development, finance, and physical teams, as well as joint venture partners. Beyond transactional responsibilities, the role also encompasses strategic business development initiatives, evaluating power markets, supply-demand dynamics, and pioneering new offtake structures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate project risk-adjusted return profiles and drive transaction execution, including project offtake, power market origination, M&A opportunities, and specialized financings or asset sell-downs.
- Collaborate extensively with internal teams and external partners to implement business development strategies and assess power market dynamics.
- Lead negotiations and due diligence processes for mergers, acquisitions, and financing transactions.
- Analyze energy capital markets and contribute to the development of innovative financing structures.
- Assess new business opportunities aligned with Our Client’s strategic objectives.
- Maintain a proactive approach to project management, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budgetary constraints.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum six years of relevant experience, with a strong background in project finance debt and tax equity within the renewable energy sector.
- Profound understanding of energy capital markets and demonstrated analytical capabilities.
- Track record of academic and professional excellence, with effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, exhibiting strong organizational acumen and attention to detail.
- High motivation, creativity, and the ability to cultivate relationships with stakeholders.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Annual base salary ranging from $140,000 to $160,000, commensurate with experience.
- Variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire.
