What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fiber Optic Technician position at Intercon, Inc.?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for assembling Intercon Fiber Optic product per customer requirements, internal assembly instructions and industry standards; achieving high quality results in an efficient time frame.
- Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, customer specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials
- Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements
- Assembles Fiber Optic components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies
- Applies all learned industry standard requirements, following specifications and assembly instructions precisely to yield high quality product results
- Verifies specifications by measuring completed component
- Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources
- Keeps equipment operational by following manufacturer's instructions
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results and minimize scrap
- Documents actions by completing production and quality forms
- Performs work required in an efficient manor, striving to meet estimated time goals
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
