Position: Mental Health Clinical Supervisor (CS)

Hours: (1) Part-Time position (SMHS) and (1) Intermittent (MHS) position available – or combined for full-time

$10,000 sign-on bonus after hire plus $10,000 signing bonus after successful 6 months performance

Benefits and bonus for part time or intermittent are pro-rated

In a multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary community mental health setting where associates and master level practicum students provide treatment services this position acts as Clinical Supervisor within the Mental Health & Trauma Treatment (MH&TT) department. According to California BBS regulations and MH&TT department standards, provides onboarding, training, clinical supervision, and evaluation of assigned BBS registered associates and master level students, and case consult to licensed therapists. Collaborates on high risk cases, provide triage with Managers and Director. May provide reimbursable services documented into electronic health record systems. Reports to Management designee.

(LMFT or LCSW) – Demonstrates clinical supervisory experience according to California BBS, CAMFT, NASW standards. Provides required weekly individual or triadic clinical supervision to assigned clinical team members. Provides back up individual, triadic or group clinical supervision as needed. Participates in onboarding clinicians. Collaborates on clinical staff introductory and annual performance reviews. Is an integral member of the treatment team.

Hourly Rate: minimum 4 years post licensure, plus 2 years clinical supervisory experience $50/$51 bilingual

Examples Of Duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide clinical supervision in accordance with department standards, Interface Mission, Vision and Values, and CA BBS regulations.
  • Provide key role in onboarding and assessing competency of clinical interventions provided and documentation.
  • Mentor, evaluate and remediate the professional growth, development, and evaluation of assigned associates and student trainees/interns.
  • Review clinical charts, documentation, treatment interventions to support efficacy of treatment provided by assigned treatment staff.
  • Cosign documents as required by contract and department standards.
  • Facilitate and coordinate clinical training.
  • Maintain required CEU’s per CA BBS regulations to maintain active license and to conduct clinical supervision of licensed eligible and unlicensed or waivered staff.
  • Maintain CAMFT or NASW membership and professional malpractice insurance.
  • Complete all required supervisee and supervisory documents per BBS regulations.
  • Maintains all requirements to meet standards in contracts for credentialing and recredentialing.
  • Process clinical supervision documentation of cases in EHR.
  • Participate in department team meetings as assigned.

Requirements

Working knowledge of: diagnosis, assessment, prognosis, treatment, rehabilitation and case management for children, adolescents, adults and families experiencing trauma, victimization, parenting challenges, serious mental illness, alcohol and drug issues, co-occurring disorders; case conceptualization; transference and countertransference; mentoring, coaching, training, leadership; providing effective therapeutic techniques and modalities; psychosocial and cultural factors affecting mental health and service delivery; case collaboration and engaging collaterals; professional development; evidence based treatment interventions and models; research, problem solving, directives; and administrative procedures related to the delivery of mental health services, and Medi-Cal, state and federal mental health programs descriptions, treatment benefits, application procedures, etc.

Ability to: ethically and respectfully establish and maintain effective working relationships with others as part of a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team; communicate effectively in writing and orally, including public speaking; efficiently organize time and workload responsibilities; effectively utilize agency and community resources; conduct individual, triadic or group clinical supervision; teach clinical skills, use of clinical judgement, case conceptualization, all aspects of clinical practice, laws, rules and regulations; demonstrate respect and equity; and help develop professional clinicians.

Licensure/CEU: to have at time of hire and maintain a current California Board of Behavioral Sciences license number as a condition of continued employment, and malpractice insurance policy. California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) LMFT or LCSW minimum 4 years post licensure, plus 2 years clinical supervisory experience provided to associate level clinicians. Provide clinical supervision CEUs of fifteen (15) hours of continuing education and subsequent license renewal cycle a minimum of six (6) hours of continuing education specific to clinical supervision as a condition of continued employment.

Additional: flexibility to be contacted for consultation during evening work hours and provide back-up to other supervisors as needed. Related work experience with a multi-cultural client population and Spanish-English bilingual skills, desirable, incentive provided at $1/hr with certification.

Successful background and criminal clearance required and maintained, including but not limited to California Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI, Child Abuse Index and Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Proof of a valid California Driver’s License, reliable transportation, proof of automobile insurance (listed as covered), pass and maintain driving approval as required by our insurer. Must be able to provide in-person supervision and training with staff in accordance with the California Department of Public Health orders as necessary.

Supplemental

All supervisee assignments involve work in multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural settings with high acuity youth, or complex trauma as well as adults with complex trauma and co-occurring disorders as well as parenting challenges. Interface mental health services are decentralized throughout the County and are primarily located at Interface sites with some field-work and travel within the County.

Continuous review of BBS requirements and funder requirements may result in position descriptions update or changes in clinical supervisory or supervision requirements. When updated positional descriptions will be reviewed with incumbents.
