Schedule

  • Any, as this is a PRN float pool position. Shifts will always fall between 7am and 9:30pm

Unit/Location: System Float Pool is part of Intermountain Health a nonprofit healthcare organization that focuses on person-centered care. Associates who join our Float Pool enjoy assignments at locations throughout the Denver area and are placed at various outpatient pharmacy locations.

Our hospitals in the Denver area include:

  • Good Samaritan Medical Center – Lafayette
  • Lutheran Medical Center – Wheat Ridge
  • Platte Valley Medical Center – Brighton
  • Saint Joseph Hospital - Denver

$55.00 - $91.64 hourly $7.50/hr float differential

Outpatient Pharmacist Responsibilities:

  • Accurately dispense prescription medications. Review patient’s medication order for allergy interactions, duplication of therapy, appropriateness of drug therapy, and drug interaction. Make appropriate evidence-based interventions to optimize medication use. Ensure safe, appropriate, cost effective medication therapies for SCL Health patients.
  • Provide counseling to patients and promote quality medication education and adherence. Ensure patient is well informed, treated with respect, and receives the highest level of professional level service. Ensure prescriptions are accurately billed and dispensed to the patient.
  • Supervise and direct activities of interns, technicians, and support personnel as required. Provide medication related clinical consultation and clarification to other health professionals. Participate in the evaluation and selection of formulary medications.
  • Perform in an efficient, professional manner to meet pharmacy profitability and productivity targets. Ensure compliance of the pharmacy with state board regulations.
  • Take the initiative to solve problems including, but not limited to, equipment, maintenance, drug availability, staffing issues, and extraordinary patient care concerns. Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives. Identify potential areas for improvement including processes that could be streamlined or revised to improve patient satisfaction. Identify potential safety hazards that may create problems for patients and/or staff, and take appropriate actions. Participate in departmental meetings, contributing ideas or feedback.
  • Support inventory and stewardship initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy with a five-year Bachelor of Science Degree or PharmD.
  • Current licensure by the state of practice in Pharmacy.
  • Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association.
  • Current Immunization certification.

Preferred:

  • Board certification in pharmacy practice or other recognized BPS specialty.
  • Current Medication Therapy Management (MTM) certification.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in an outpatient or retail pharmacy.
