Job Description:
The Oncology Navigator Pharmacy Technician is a pharmacy technician with comprehensive oncology knowledge who demonstrates operational judgement, assesses the needs of the team and works together with the Nurse Navigator and Oncology Pharmacist to provide exceptional patient-centered care.
This position will provide care coordination that supports the Specialty/Oncology Pharmacist and various tele-oncology sites serviced by Intermountain Homecare and Hospice Pharmacy. Duties may include tracking down orders, labs, test results, drug inventory, nurse scheduling, troubleshooting electronic issues regarding scanning and charting of medications and any other needs to successfully support Specialty patients and Tele-oncology site(s).
The Oncology Navigator Pharmacy Technician will play a role in filling oncology medications and possibly compounding them as the need arises.
This position also plays an active role in the sales outreach, site set up and support of the tele-oncology program. This will include, but not limited to:
• Outreach presentations
• Onboarding procedures
• Test run prior to go-live
• Support for the first 6-months to ensure success.
This technician will also play a role in expansion of tele-oncology services by working to improve the current process, facilitate contracting and establish billing practices that satisfy current and future sites. This will include, but not limited to:
• Revise, design and develop professional and educational material for the interdisciplinary team as appropriate and in a coordinated manner.
• Revise contracting to include all services provided.
• Ensure billing of each site is accurate.
