**Job Description:**
The Systems Administrator performs administration and provides operational support for corporate systems including hardware and OS system availability, performance tuning, installation, security, and troubleshooting. Staff-level professional experienced in all aspects of systems administration. Encompasses full knowledge required within the systems specialty area. Functions independently with minimal oversight and direction. May instruct and guide other technical professionals.

Job Essentials
Configures, tests, maintains, and troubleshoots access to various systems.
Experience in server and system administration for Windows/Linux, comfortable at command prompt.
Receives and responds to incoming incidents, catalog requests, calls, pages and/or e-mails.
Schedules and performs improvements as assigned. Assists in the quarterly security audits.
Adheres to procedures for logging, reporting, and monitoring access to systems.
Participates in the creation of security documents (policies, standards, baselines, guidelines, and procedures) under the direction of IS Leadership, where appropriate.
Recommends additional security solutions or enhancements to existing security solutions to improve overall security.
Creates and drives quality initiatives to improve processes and increase efficiency.
Develops solutions to automate existing processes, as needed.
Provides reports/dashboards to the leadership.
Participates in incident investigations into suspicious or problematic activity.
Participates in the on-call rotation
Minimum Qualifications **(Staff - salary range: $34.59-$54.47/hr.)**
Bachelor's degree in computer science or Information Systems. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.

Four years equivalent technical experience in systems administration or related technical field.

Three years of systems experience.
- and -
Demonstrated working technical knowledge of systems administration (hardware, protocols, standards, hands on troubleshooting, performance tuning, and monitoring tools).

Business process and reengineering experience, as well as an understanding of the relationship between processes and policies.

Demonstrated experience solving server/operating system problems that reduce impact to customers/end-users.
**Minimum Qualifications (Senior - salary range: $47.32-$74.50/hr.)**
Bachelor's degree in computer science or Information Systems. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.

Six years of System Administration experience.

Demonstrated working technical knowledge of Systems administration (e.g. hands-on troubleshooting experience, server performance tuning and monitoring tools, scripting code using Perl, CGI, C, shell, and PowerShell scripting tools, Systems hardware, protocols, and standards)

Business process and reengineering experience, as well as an understanding of the relationship between processes and policies.
