What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing Associate position at International City Theatre?
Part-time Marketing Associate for International City Theatre, an award-winning professional, non-profit regional theatre, includes five annual main stage productions and six education programs, celebrating its 39th season in 2024.
Responsible for providing organization, strategy planning and implementation of all marketing activities including but not limited to subscription/sales campaigns, group sales, special events, and promotions with major goals of increasing sales, enhancing the image of the theatre, and expanding awareness through social media and in the community. Must be able to work as a one-person show (with some assistance). Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Planning and executing subscription and single ticket campaigns, corporate sponsorships, media buys, production and distribution of all marketing materials
- Develop and create electronic and printed communications materials.
- Writing/updating annual marketing plan, action plan
- Giving input to marketing budget
- Setting goals for season and each project
- Developing timelines and plans of action for season and each project (including productions, special events, and outreach) that include a full range of marketing tactics to achieve objectives
- Working with the Artistic Director, Executive Assistant, and Sales/Box Office Manager in designing, implementing, maintaining, and distributing printed materials, flyers, brochures, newsletters, programs, and other collateral information
- Developing and implementing e-mail marketing campaigns, web site updates, and special promotions
- Developing new marketing strategies to enhance earned revenue potential in a fast developing Long Beach market
- Maintaining marketing files in computer to accurately describe project progress and maintain any databases associated with your work
- Attending various relevant meetings and act as a representative of the company
- Creating partnerships and sponsorships in the community with other organizations, corporations, etc.
- Protecting the proprietary nature of the work performed and the records generated
- Qualified applicant will be a highly organized self-starter. Excellent oral and written communication with strong computer skills needed. Computer graphics experience a plus. Four-year degree and knowledge of arts, education and theatre is preferred. 3 to 5 years of experience with increasing levels of responsibility in arts marketing. Some weekends/evening work at the theatre may be required.
