POSITION OVERVIEW 

The Gift Processing Specialist will have a principal focus on the day-to-day gift processing duties, including data entry into the organization’s CRM, Raiser’s Edge; preparation of revenue logs and reports; preparation of donor acknowledgment letters; and managing donor and prospect data.

 

The Gift Processing Specialist will work on-site (not remote), report to the Director of Philanthropy, and work closely with the rest of the Philanthropy team and the Finance team.

 

This is a temporary position with the potential for conversion to a permanent role.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Process all donations made to I-House, including via check credit card, direct deposit; stock transfer; matching donations; and gifts imported from the University of California at Berkeley Foundation
  • Timely and accurately enter all gift and relevant donor data into Raiser’s Edge CRM database
  • Oversee and execute donor acknowledgment processes - draft, merge, print, and mail / email acknowledgement letters for timely distribution
  • Record donor stewardship actions (emails, invitations, etc.) in CRM
  • Prepare revenue logs and other relevant financial reports to reconcile gift record systems, prepare for fiscal year close; and Board communications
  • Conduct specialized queries, research, reporting, and the preparation of mailing lists
  • File gift backup documentation
  • Create, update, and merge constituent information as needed
  • Check the Philanthropy mail
  • Supports large-scale outreach and data-driven initiatives such as appeals, alumni reunions, other events, and mass hard-copy and digital messaging
  • Other duties as assigned, including various administrative tasks.

 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS  

  • Working knowledge of customer relationship management database concepts, principles, procedures, and techniques
  • Accuracy, timeliness, attention to detail, organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Good written and interpersonal communication skills to establish and maintain good working relationships with internal and external constituencies
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to multi-task and ensure effective time management in a dynamic, flexible environment
  • PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge/Blackbaud and the Cal Advancement Data System (CADS) a Salesforce application
  • Mailchimp experience is useful but not required
  • Demonstrated decision-making and reasoning skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS  

  • Compensation: $55,000 - $70,000/year.
  • I-House also offers a robust benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage with 100% employer-covered premiums (dependent on plan selection), life insurance, short- and long-term disability, access to a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), commuter benefits, and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Additionally, I-House offers a 403(b) plan with a 5% matching and a 5% non-elective contribution. This organization also offers a 457(b)-retirement plan option.
  • Employees earn paid vacation totaling 18 days of accrual in the first year (with accrual increasing after 5 years), paid sick time, 14 paid holidays, and generous family leave and accommodations.

 

Must be able to work in person in Berkeley, CA.
