JOB TITLE: Inspector, Quality Control
DEPARTMENT: Quality Control
REPORTS TO: Quality Assurance Manager
FLSA STATUS: Exempt or Non-Exempt
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
- Performs short cycle repetitive tests and / or inspections involving knowledge of product and use of standardized measuring specifications and / or test instructions. Will examine parts and / or assemblies, rejecting units, which do not meet specifications. Will use calipers, magnifier, specialized test equipment and work form inspection documentation including blueprints and written specifications. Understands and adheres to proper documentation practices. Measured against established standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs Verification on Incoming Raw Material, In-Process Manufacturing, and Finished Goods.
- Assists Manufacturing Engineering and R&D with Validation testing/inspections.
- Performs complete device inspection by measuring dimensions, such as length, diameter, and distance, between reference points, using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, comparators to ensure product(s) meets specifications.
- Maintains record of inspections and prepares list of defects, interacts with other departments to ensure compliance with specification and to facilitate the acceptance of parts.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Physical activity includes walking, standing, bending, squatting, reaching above shoulders and lifting up to 40lbs. Must be able to drive an automobile for short distances.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Performs primarily office activities in a lighted and ventilated area. May be subject to changes in temperature and exposure to dust. Will be exposed to uncontrolled environmental conditions during driving. Will work in a normally acceptable office environment, production floor, or warehouse, with no abnormal hazards or risks. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
