Title: Coordinator of Interpreting Services

Reports to: Director of Interpreting Services
Location: Rochester, NY
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the leadership of the Director of Interpreting Services, the Coordinator of Interpreting Services is responsible for the scheduling of interpreting services to foster long-term connections with our staff, contractors, customers, and community partners.
The Coordinator of Interpreting Services must be highly accurate, flexible, detail-oriented, and have the proven ability to handle confidential information appropriately. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and outstanding customer service skills are required. The ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with team members, external customers, and leadership across a multi-state organization and is also required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Manage phone calls, e-mails, and faxes to ensure quality services are delivered consistently and competently.
- Efficient data entry utilizing company database.
- Ability to assess provided information and assign the most qualified interpreter for each request.
- Establishing and fostering positive working relationships with requestors, consumers, and interpreters.
- Working knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act and how it pertains to the Deaf community.
- Reviews and researches professional literature, journals, etc., and attends conferences and workshops to stay current on best practices.
- Work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Contribute to a supportive work environment with positive and creative participation.
- Comply with policies and procedures as outlined by Interpretek.
- This position has access to highly confidential information relating to the customers of Interpretek. The applicant must possess the requisite integrity to maintain the information in the strictest confidence.
- Ensure Interpretek’s values are represented in all interactions.
Requirements
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TECHNOLOGY APPLICATIONS, AND SKILLS
- An associate degree in American Sign Language-English Interpretation or related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of proficiency in computer and technology skills, including Microsoft Office Suite of products, strongly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively communicate via email, chat, and phone ensuring all tasks are accurate and delivered with high quality and in a timely manner
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Self-motivated, highly accountable, reliable, able to prioritize, able to work independently, demonstrated ability in working with different styles and multiple groups
- Familiarity and/or experience with learning business software tools
